Not all colonies succeed, and some fail spectacularly. Doza’i-tuan was one of the latter ones: A resonably prosperous colony city that was destroyed when a nearby volcano exploded and buried the entire region in ashes and lava. Although no one found it worth the cost to dig out and resettle the city in its original form, an enterprising group later moved in and established the shadowport Doza’i-tuan-ani, “Doza’i-tuan-that-is-not”, among the ruins.
Using the smooth cooled lava surface as landing pads and the now half-buried city towers as warehouses and living quarters, the new settlement is an eerie place. Life has only recently begun to reestablish itself, so the area is characterised by stark stone grey and ashen surfaces, only broken up by the occasional straggling plant.
